The Delta Air Lines Soccer club was founded in 1988 and has more than 200 current members. The club is made up of employees of Delta and its subsidiaries as well as their family members, and includes employees from across the system from every employee division.

The team is invited to several tournaments and matches every year and attends at least two international events and several domestic events each year. The Delta Soccer Club plans to hold its own airline tournament in 2011 with the 15th annual “Atlanta Cup.”

The team travels around the world to participate in soccer tournaments and perform community service initiatives, such as donating soccer gear and putting on free soccer clinics for kids in different countries. Since 1989 the club has sent teams to more than 50 tournaments and participated in more than 100 matches. The team has played in Canada, Mexico, British Virgin Islands, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, England, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Czech Republic, and Dubai.
